Finally done!!
Hey blog! I've got great news. My group and I have finally finished our film opening for our portfolio project! It has been a wild ride, and I am so relieved to say that this process is finally over. It was fun, but very stressful, especially with this pandemic. But, I've decided to look on the bright side and realize that filming separately was a lot easier than if we had been filming together since we had a lot of scheduling conflicts and it was very hard to meet up. Anyways, I just wanted to let my blog know that we have finally finished the project. My next couple of posts will consist of the finished product and the Creative Critical Reflection that I will also be filming for this project. Since we have received an extension for the CCR, I have pushed back editing a little bit. So, tomorrow afternoon I will be posting the finished film opening and on April 17 I will be posting the CCR. Thank you for sticking here for the entirety of this project and seeing how we have progressed!

Music + Editing Update
Hey blog! I have an update on how the editing process for our film has been going. Since we changed the whole idea of our film, the email we sent to Universal Music Group about using a song by one of their artists was no longer needed since we would not be using that song for our film opening. So, I would like to give a little update on what music we will be using for our film opening. Since it was too last minute to email a record label asking if we could use a song by one of their artists, we decided to go the royalty-free route as a last resort. The song we decided to use in our film opening is called Revelations by Tristan Barton. This song is supposed to represent the dream that our main character our main character is in during the film opening since the music is only playing during the dream sequence. Besides the music aspect of the editing process, everything has been running very smoothly even though at some points we felt like we were missing some shots or videos. But, this was easily fixed since we were filming from home and one of us could easily record whichever scene we needed to record. Overall, the editing process has been going well and we are almost done with our film opening.

Update
Hey blog! I just wanted to give a little update on how the process of creating our film opening is going. Since we have finished filming, all that I have left to film is my CCR and create the screenplay. Paola has already started editing, so our film opening should be done soon. I don't want to upload any stills from our videos just yet because I wanna save the final product for my last post and leave it as a surprise. I also have decided what I want to do for my CCR! I have decided that I want to film it as if it were an interview. I'm not exactly sure what type of interview just yet, but I'm thinking that I want it to be a job interview since I feel like a normal interview would just be so boring. I am going to start filming my CCR tomorrow, so I will have that video up by April 12. I am planning on posting the screenplay for my next blog post since I am almost done with it. Anyways, I'm just here to say that this whole process is going very smoothly and was not as difficult as I thought it was going to be. Happy blogging!

Finally Filming!
Hey blog! Great news... my group and I started filming today! Although we did not meet up to film, the process of filming separately still went pretty smoothly. The only trouble that I ran into was trying to get a shot of the bush blowing in the wind, and not having my group members there whenever I had a question about a shot. The weather has been so hot and dry recently, so I had to wait a little bit to get that shot of the bush blowing in the wind. Not having my group there to film was also kinda strange and difficult at times, cause every time I backtracked and had a question about a shot I had to either text in the group chat we have or wing it. I also received a lot of stares from being outside, because the process of filming really looked like I was having a photoshoot, and we all know now is most definitely NOT the time to have a photoshoot. But, I still made sure not to get close to anyone Other than that, the process went very smoothly and I cannot wait to see the finished product. I also forgot to mention in our last post that Paola is going to be the one editing our film, and I am still working on the screenplay. I know it is kind of strange to make the screenplay after filming, but I wanted to have a for sure idea of what was going to be said in our film before creating it.

Actors
Hey blog! Today I wanted to make a post about who's going to be acting in our film, and where we are going to film our opening. Here is the list of actors for our film:
- Kali: Valerie Tiralongo (me!)
- Aria Costales: Julieta Argiro
- Giulia Costales: Macarena Leon
- Lorenzo Costales: Nacho Argiro
Now, you're probably thinking, "If they've chosen a location other than their houses to film, that's not social distancing!" But wait, it is! Juli is going to film her portion of the film at her house and I will be filming at one of my local communities called San Sebastian. I am filming with my sister, who I have been staying at home with. We are only going to San Sebastian, and we are not going to stop anywhere else, so technically it is social distancing. It is also just going to be my sister and I outside (hopefully). Happy filming!
